1. A period of time seen in relation to a process or a series of phenomena: "What seems most steadfast over the human life span may be evanescent on a geological or astronomical timescale" (Brian Hayes).
2. A schedule or arrangement of events or commitments: The two nations agreed to a timescale for disarmament.
