My favourite varieties EVERYONE has heard of the big four
spring-flowering bulbs - tulips, crocus, daffodils and hyacinths.
They very rarely need pruning, unlike many other
spring-flowering shrubs.
You could do the same with other
spring-flowering bulbs, such as hyacinth, muscari and iris.
They look fabulous interplanted with

In removing, as you should, the older growth of lilacs and other rapid-growing,
spring-flowering shrubs, blooming for this spring season only may be reduced if you prune before flowering.

The golden rule with daffodils and most other
