The exhibit is the newest addition to the museum's coverage of Naval Aviation's role in the space program, which includes a replica of the Lunar Module that astronauts landed on the moon and the actual rescue basket that pulled the Apollo 11 astronauts into a helicopter after their capsule splashed down in the Pacific Ocean.
WASHINGTON, March 8 (KUNA) -- SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean on Friday, completing a US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) demonstration mission that paves the way for the resumption of manned space flights from the US.
This includes conversations from the time the astronauts blasted off on July 16, 1969, to when they splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on July 24.
The payload splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean 40 miles from Wallops Island and will be recovered and returned to Wallops for data retrieval and inspection.
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) sources said, "It was a perfect mission and the missile splashed down near the target point with high degree of accuracy".
