According to the applicable requirements of the International Standard IEC 62305-1-2010 [5] in the assessment of protection from lightning strike short of buildings, technical installations and their parts, including those in which people and utilities, using a normalized aperiodic current pulse lightning temporary form [T.sub.1]/[T.sub.2] = 10 [micro]s/350 [micro]s of
positive polarity, where [T.sub.1], [T.sub.2] are, respectively, the rise time and duration of the halftime of the lightning current pulse.
For the different factors in the simulation study, we observe that the improvement for the TS is more pronounced for PAIR and PICK formats, lower number of blocks, lower discrimination, and
positive polarity. The largest effect resulted from combinations of blocks with positive items and low variability, and the differences due variability of the item difficulty were quite similar (Table 2).

This feature can take on fuzzy values like "good," "excellent," or "satisfactory" which have a
positive polarity, or it can take on fuzzy values like "poor" and "bad" which have a negative polarity.
"But if it hits a semiconductor device, then it takes that pulse of a negative polarity and turns it into a
positive polarity. It makes everything positive.
