Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine and metabolic disorders with a prevalence of approximately 60-70% in Chinese obese women of reproductive age.[1] The common manifestations of PCOS are
oligomenorrhea, chronic anovulation, hyperandrogenism, hyperinsulinemia, and polycystic ovaries on ovarian ultrasonography.[2] PCOS increases the risks of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, endometrial cancer, and ovarian cancer.[3],[4] The pathogenesis of PCOS remains unclear, although it is considered to be the result of interaction between genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors.
