(4,7,8) When tongue cysts are initially discovered, inspiratory stridor, FTT, swallowing deficits, oxygen
desaturation, respiratory failure, and/or acute life-threatening events have been reported.
We report a case with tracheostomy presented to OR with loss of capnography but fair oxygen saturation which proved to be tube dislodgement by fiber-optic bronchoscopy timely without further
desaturation.
Sleep apnea was defined via the Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHI) and the
desaturation indices (DI).
Severity classification of OSA is based on the frequency and depth/nadir of the
desaturations and the number of
desaturation clusters, defined as periods of
desaturation ([greater than or equal to]5 drops [greater than or equal to] 4% from baseline) within a 10-30-minute period (Table 1).
The sleep efficiency, percentage of time in different sleep stages, apnea index (AI), hypopnea index (HI), apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), arousal index, oxygen
desaturation index (ODI), rapid eye movement (REM) AHI, REM ODI, percentage of total sleep time with [O.sub.2] saturation <90%, mean [O.sub.2] saturation and minimum [O.sub.2] saturation levels were evaluated.
Recovery of spontaneous respiration following 0.8 mg/kg succinylcholine administration may not occur rapidly enough to prevent haemoglobin
desaturation in patients whose ventilation is not assisted.
"Our study provides a detailed analysis of the changes in the lipid composition in HCV-infected cells that revealed dependency on FA [fatty acid] elongation and
desaturation for effective viral replication and virion production," they reported.
Objective: To compare the efficacy of intravenous lignocain versus sevoflurane in prevention of coughing and
desaturation at extubation in children less than 6 years of age.
According to the company, the patients treated with the FRESCA system showed significant improvement in baseline values for the Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI) and the Oxygen
Desaturation Index (ODI), both within the normal range (i.e., AHI 2.9/hr, ODI 1.4/hr).
