The NHLs that are categorized as high, intermediate, or low risk by age, stage, and LDH level include adult T-cell lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, transformed lymphoma, and
blastoid variants of mantle cell lymphoma.
Major hemorrhage was observed in 1 patient with
blastoid variant of MCL who had intra-parenchymal CNS bleeding.
Some cells were fairly monomorphic small lymphocytes, but there were high proportions of
blastoid cells.
This was supported by lack of any additional morphologic or immunophenotypic features that are supportive of immaturity; as the malignant cells were not really having
blastoid morphology, with bright CD45 expression, negative CD34, and positive surface immunoglobulin with kappa light chain restriction.

blastoid cells (H&E stain x100).
Morphologic variants include the aggressive
blastoid and pleomorphic types.
showed that the typical blasts were seen in 44% of skin biopsy specimens of BPDCN, with the majority (56%) of cases presenting as a rather pleomorphic infiltrate with admixed
blastoid cells in the background.
Out of 18 cases, 14 were B-cell lymphomas (CD20+) including 12 cases of diffuse large B cell lymphoma, one low grade lymphoma (CD5+, CD23+) and one
Blastoid mantle cell lymphoma (CD5+, CD23-).
Based on the findings, the diagnosis of
blastoid variant of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) was established.
Only two
blastoid species and six crinoid species have been described from the Columbus Limestone of central Ohio (Table 1), and no identified echinoderms have been described previously from the Delaware Limestone.
Many of the
blastoid and crinoid stems are extremely thin and may not have been able to withstand high-energy currents.
When Baumiller looked at more than 4,000 fossils of the
blastoid Heteroschisma, he found that 139 had conical or cylindrical holes.
