Scirpeae appears to form a grade consisting of three separate lineages: a Calliscirpus lineage (BP 97%, BS 100%, PP 1.00), a Trichophorum clade consisting of Cypringlea + Oreobolopsis + Trichophorum (BP 62%, BS 76%, PP 0.94), and a clade consisting of the
Scirpus Clade (Eriophorum +
Scirpus) sister to the Zameioscirpus clade (Amphiscirpus + Phylloscirpus + Rhodoscirpus + Zameioscirpus) (BP 67%, BS 84%, PP 0.98).
Shallow areas, aquatic weeds (
Scirpus californicus), and a sandy bottom were represented by sites six to nine (Figure 1).
