* STRUKTOL Montan Wax OP
Montanic Ester Wax--Partially Saponified.
In this article, the effect of an organic nucleating agent based on a salt of
montanic acid (sodium octaco-sanoate - [NaC.sub.28-32]) on the crystallization characteristics of three distinct molecular weight TPUs was studied.
A releasing agent comprises a
montanic acid complex acid ester.
We previously analyzed the fatty acid content of lipophilic extracts of Pistacia vera by capillary GC-MS that showed the PV-DL extract to contain almost 40% saturated fatty acids, in total, consisting of myristic, palmitic, oleic, stearic, elaidic, behenic, melissic, ligno-seric and
montanic acids (Aslan et al., 2002; Aslan and Orhan, 2005).
Placed in and around this
montanic mock-up were forty-five of his sculptures, paintings, and drawings, all of them reflecting the alpine theme.
Surfactants offered: anionics, amphoterics, nonionics, polyalkylene glycols, glycerol esters, PEG esters, sorbitan fatty acid esters, ethoxylated sorbitan fatty acid esters, polyproylene glycols, polycarboxyalte polymers, polyethylenimine, polyethyelene waxes,
montanic acids, chelating agents and biocides
Cerotic acid,
montanic acid, melissic acid and palmitic acid were found in low amounts ( less than 5 %) while trycosylic acid (4.83 %) was the only fatty acid with odd number of carbon atoms.
Ethyleneglycol ester of
montanic acid supplied by Hoechst Japan was used as a release agent.
One hundred parts of PVC (Kanevinyl S-400 P = 400) was blended with 3.0 parts of octyltin mercaptide, 1.0 part of stearyl alcohol, 0.5 part of stearic acid amide, 0.5 part of
montanic acid dial ester and 1.0 part of a processing aid (Kane Ace PA2O), and the resulting blend was extrusion molded using a 50-mmdiameter single-screw extruder (VS50-26) manufactured by Tanabe Plastic Kikal Co., Ltd.
In addition to Hostamont TP ET 141 and TP ET 132, a full range of
montanic acid esters provide mold release, flow, dispersion enhancements, and lubricity for demanding applications for engineering resins.
