ferrous sulfate

n.
A white to blue-green crystalline compound, FeSO4, occurring in nature as various hydrate minerals such as copperas, and used as a pigment, fertilizer, and feed additive, in sewage and water treatment, and as a medicine in the treatment of iron deficiency.
