Perhaps most refreshing, given that it is nota role that usually warrants much attention, was Joe Caffrey's
Borachio. With a broad Geordie accent from the northeast of England, Caffrey's villain was lucid and persuasive and gave some weight to the conspirators' plotting which compensated for the thinness of Pidgeon's Don John.
Both Dogberry and
Borachio are comic because the key expressions ring idiosyncratically true, the application is false.
