Tea production for the month of September stood at 42.51Million Kgs, which was more or less at par with the output for recorded during the same period of last year of 42.41 Million Kgs. However, this was a slight recovery from the declining production trend that was recorded during the months of June, July and August. The recovery follows increased precipitation received during the month of September especially in the highlands west of the Rift Valley. During the month, tea growing areas in some parts of the West of the Rift received moderate rainfall ranging from an average of 30.44 mm to 78.44 mm daily for Kericho and 19.2 mm to 44.2 mm in Nandi.
