I didn't have a lot of QSOs on this SSS, but I did have two really nice QSOs with Larry (WA5RES) and Jim (K0WVL) on 40 meters.
Plus, I got to use my GHD
A wonderful way to start the New Year !
Thanks everyone !
Happy New Year everyone! K3Y here we go. Gud CW activity.

Started slow than WOW on 80m was hopping. Real fun activity.
KS9KCCWorking SKN at the same time. Had great fun using my home brew replica 1936 Frank Jones breadboard transmitter. Uses 6A6 tube in push pull xtal oscillator running 5 watts output. QRP for sure! Antenna is a full wave 40M loop, which helps a bit. Key was an old J-38.
W9GTWasn't able to focus on the event due to other holiday pursuits, but did want to start the year with at least a few SKCC contacts. Happy new year!
Operated for about 6.5 hrs with this Slow Speed
Saunter. One QSO on 20m, none on 80m, rest on
40m. Good activity with this one.
Was gone most of day so not many for me I'm afraid. Looking forward to the new year.
HNY to all!

Need to try harder next time! HNY all!
Lots of fun to do SKN and SSS. Used my favorite straight key a J.H. Bunnell & Co New York, NY Steel Lever Key c. 1924. Note the "Bug Lip" just in front of the spring. Bunnell made 1,000s of these keys for Western Union, Postal Telegraph, press agencies, etc.
W2LCQThank You for the SSS QSO's. Happy New Year.
GL and 73, Larry
I made one contact New Year's eve before "fogging over" and going QRT. The other 13 contacts were made New Year's Day. Lots of band activity on CW.
I spent a little over 3 hours on the air. Only heard a few stations and no one heard me. Even arranged QSOs didn't work. Then t-storms and end of air time. Maybe next time.
I'll make sure that I'll participate each month in the future!
