SCOUG OS/2 For You - September 1996
Merlin Goes Gold
Sept. 25th is the big day for the next version of OS/2, code named Merlin,
expected to be called OS/2 Warp version 4. It will be launched (one of
those great marketing terms) at a gala held in San Francisco.
This version of OS/2 is the next generation of Warp Connect (with all of
its networking functionality), but will only be available with WIN-OS/2
built-in. There are a ton of new features including OpenDoc, Java,
integrated Internet tools, and the much hyped Voice Dictation and
Navigation. Word is that new product will be in retail by the end of that
week, but pricing is still unavailable.
