For well over two decades, Pan Global Plants has been supplying gardeners, collectors, arboreta and public gardens with one of the most inspiring and desirable collections of plants available in the UK

Every variety is chosen and vetted by Nick Macer, owner and well-known plantsman/plant explorer, who has travelled the temperate world extensively for inspiration.

Here we use the words ‘rare’ and ‘unusual’ in the true sense.

Hello, Just to say how much we are enjoying the plants we bought from you last year. Today, the Magnolia laevifolia has scores of flowers opening and after months of watching those gloriously velvety buds it is thrilling to see. Everything we bought from you is thriving and giving us great pleasure. We will be sure to come to you again and meanwhile we tell all our garden loving friends and visitors about your nursery. Best wishes Jane Meir

Despite the Mediterranean heat, my man @plantsman_ Despite the Mediterranean heat, my man @plantsman_kyiv and I toddled off to Wiltshire on Friday to visit David Morrison, where I designed the arboretum and garden border plantings some years ago and have provided huge numbers of special things over the years. Suffice to say, it is deeply pleasing to see so many of my babies doing so well under his care. First up is Rosa cymosa; my collection from Guizhou, SW China. The tiniest of flowers make it look like another member of the Rosaceae. Please swipe... Rosa cymosa doing a Pyracantha impression Genista aetnensis, the Mount Etna broom. Loving life in poor soil and full sun. My collection from NE Mexico of what is known in cultivation as Pinus montezumae, but despite a vast amount of time in cultivation, taxonomists have not come up with a consensus as to what this fully hardy, grey, stiff needled entity is. Pinus montezumae in Mexico is usually green, with drooping needless and not fully hardy. These trees represent a very rare reintroduction of the classic 'British' form of Pinus aff. montezumae. In some ways it is close to the related P. hartwegii, but not... Pinus aff. montezumae, doing fabulously well after not so very many years and loving the greensand soil. Pinus aff. montezumae again, showing part of the group planting, where we put in at least 5 trees (can't remember, maybe more!) My collection of the very rare Cercis griffithii from Southern Tajikistan, very near the Afghan border. All plants of this species in the wild had very glaucous foliage, making a nonsense of the recently named/marketed 'Blue Lagoon' clone of this species from Belgium. My collection of Pinus strobiformis from Durango, Mexico, with its long, chunky cones. Great to see this coning now. Pinus strobiformis again, showing its glaucous foliage. My collection of the vigorous Alnus subcordata from the Hyrcanian forests of SE Azerbaijan, very near the Iranian border. This species makes huge specimens in the wild, well over 30m tall and with excellent crown form and characterful fluted trunks. Hardly ever seen in cultivation, this is Tilia dasystyla subsp. caucasica, with its conspicuous and distinctly long, almost white floral b
