Certification and Testing

Testing is a key component of The Open Group's Open Brand certification program, which includes UNIX® certification, LDAP certification and others, and which offers buyers a guarantee of conformance.

Test suite versions and dates of applicability

Only current valid test suites can be used for certification. The above link can be used to find out which test suite versions are valid for certification.

Testing requirements by product standard

The Open Brand certification program is organized around Product Standards. Which test suites are required for different certification programs is defined here.

Conformance Statement Questionnaires (CSQs)

Optional and implementation defined behavior often has to be described in a conformance statement as part of a certification submission. The above links lists the blank templates. An online web system is provided for CSQs within The Open Brand.

Waivers, interpretations and test suite deficiencies

The above link gives an overview of the processes in place to resolve test suite and specification issues.

Interpretations(support customers only)

Certain Test result codes must resolve to pass by having an associated record in the interpretations database. Access requires password authorization
