For many years, Landmark collaborated with the team behind Old Maps to make historical mapping data available to individuals interested in local history or decorative map prints. Access to these maps was provided under a license that allowed only non-commercial, personal use.
Over time, it became clear that some professional users were unintentionally using Old Maps as a reference tool, unaware that this fell outside the permitted usage. This led to confusion around licensing and the appropriate channels for commercial access.
To address this and better support our professional services customers, we made the decision to retire consumer access to the Old Maps website. This allows us to focus on improving and clarifying our historical mapping services for commercial use.
If you’re looking to purchase a one-off historical map for personal use, you can do so via our Promap platform. Simply create a personal account, add your credit card details, and purchase maps directly from the "Reports" tab.
Comprehensive historical mapping: Use Envirocheck to access layered historical maps across multiple time periods. You can overlay maps with varying opacities to easily track changes in the landscape over time.
For digital mapping for GIS/CAD: For digital formats compatible with GIS or CAD software, please contact our team at Promap.
For custom mapping solutions: For tailored historical mapping services or consulting visit Geodata Consulting Services or, reach out to our Geodata consulting team.
