Celebrating the NSFNET
The NSFNET was a program of coordinated, evolving projects sponsored by the National Science Foundation
beginning in 1985 to promote advanced networking in the United States. NSFNET was also the name given to
a nationwide physical network that was constructed to support the NSF's networking initiatives from
1985-1995.

In Arlington, VA on November 29-30, 2007, an event celebrated the NSFNET and reflected on the
astonishing changes that the Internet has spawned over the last twenty years.
