If I've entertained you, please send some cash my way and
avoid weeks worth of updates saying, "Washing dishes in Perth
again".
If you contact any of these sites, please tell them you heard of them through me. It'll make my life easier. They've helped me out.
Phil is the guy who first built my bike. I figured if I built a bike for this trip it would be crap and would break down a lot. I paid Phil AU9,345ドル and the bike lasted about 14,845 miles. As I heard around Australia many many times, "Don't let that guy work on anything. Just buy parts from him and even then they have to be sent back half the time". Of course, your methods may vary. He is a nice guy (really) who gets abuse for the godawful high priced work he attempts (does?). Seriously, for one thousand more I could've bought a Vincent Comet. Regrets, I've had a few...
Bob Brown and
Ian Gowanloch took pity on me (that's Ian's wife's site). Ian did a lot of work on the bike and Bob chucked it into the ocean to finish it off. No, Bob did a lot for me for no reason that I can explain. He's built the bike for Round 2: Melbourne to Sacramento (via Eurasia).
Another great site for people who ride motorcycles in weird places. My
account is here .
Kiva I wanted to let you know about Kiva, a non-profit that allows you to lend as little as 25ドル to a specific low-income entrepreneur in the developing world.
You choose who to lend to - tuktuk (aka autorickshaw aka motorcycle transport) in Peru, a cheesemaker in Bolivia, banana ranchers (hey-oooooooo) in Uganda, weavers in Cambodia, or a tailor in Iraq - and as they repay their loan, you get your money back. It痴 a powerful and sustainable way to empower someone right now to lift themselves out of poverty. India has buried Kiva with a mountain of paperwork so they're not here yet. I was hoping to donate and visit the party I'm helping. Instead I chose some folks elsewhere. I also searched for anyone dealing with monkeys, but no luck.

Besides me, there's 50 million people world-wide with epilepsy. I guess I should say 50 million and one. Luckily, my epilepsy is controlled with medication but if you see me having a seizure somewhere, put a magic marker in my hand so I can draw on my face.
Racing in the 1960s as Mike Duff, Michelle is the first North American rider to win a world championship motorcycle grand prix and still the
only Canadian to do so. She's written a great book about it.
The Vintagent is the best old motorcycle blog around.
Brit Iron is the best motorcycle mailing list in the world. I lurk there and love it. The thumper list used to be the best but there was a crazy hubbub over chili recipes when all the great posters quit posting (James Ray Crenshaw, I'm thinking of you!) and crazy ol' Hoyt McKagen shuffled off this mortal coil.
James Franzen's Ducati singles site. If you like Duc singles, start here. I wanted to try Jim's 6v light in India but the money isn't there so he's switched to old Porsches (I think they used to lose to NSU a lot growing up).
This is my craptacular
myspace account.
A very brief autobiography.
