Diabetes Recognition Program

The NCQA Diabetes Recognition Program provides clinicians with tools that support delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes.

What is Diabetes Recognition?

The Diabetes Recognition Program recognizes clinicians who use evidence-based measures to provide quality care to their patients with diabetes. Recognition makes you part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for providing the highest level of diabetes care.

What Measures Are Included in the Program?

Program measures cover:

  • Blood Pressure Control (DRP_BPD).
  • Eye Exam (DRP_EED).
  • Foot Exam (DRP_FED).
  • Glycemic Status Assessment <8.0% (DRP_GS8).
  • Glycemic Status Assessment >9.0% (DRP_GS9).
  • Kidney Health Evaluation (DRP_KED).
  • Smoking and Tobacco Use Screening and Follow-up (DRP_SSF).

To earn NCQA Recognition, clinicians submit data demonstrating that they meet specific criteria for the 6 clinical performance measures comprising the Diabetes Recognition Program.
