Ferried to Consolidated Steel Corp, Orange, TX. for fitting out as a Charles Lawrence Class High-speed Transport

Commissioned USS Bassett (APD-73), 23 February 1945, LCDR. Harold J. Theriault USNR in command

During World War II USS Bassett (APD-73) was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater

Following World War II USS Bassett was assigned to Occupation service from 12 September to 22 November 1945

Decommissioned, 29 August 1946, at Green Cove Springs FL.

Laid up in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet, Green Cove Springs

Recommissioned, 7 December 1950, LCDR. Demetrius J. Vellis in command,

Decommissioned, 26 November 1957, at Norfolk, VA.

Struck from the Naval Register, 1 May 1967

Transferred to Colombia, commissioned ARC Almirante Tono (DT-04), 6 September 1968

Final Disposition, struck from the Colombian Naval Register and broken up for scrap, date unknown
