2. International Conferences, Forums and Programs

The Sixteenth Meeting of the High-Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP)

The Sixteenth Meeting of the High-level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP) was held on December 8th, 2020 online via Webex. It was chaired by Dr. Han Seung-soo, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, with 45 participants including Mr. YAMADA Kunihiro, Vice-Minister for Engineering Affairs, Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT). In the meeting, discussion was made on the HELP actions under and post COVID-19.
HELP was established in 2014 in order to enhance proactive disaster prevention countermeasures and to mitigate water-related disasters, such as floods, droughts, storm surges and tsunamis.
Infrastructure Development Institute (IDI)-Japan supported MLIT participation and assisted HELP Secretariat to make the meeting minute.
