Brief intermission for Colin ahead of 'Miss Julie' shoot

HOLLYWOOD actor Colin Farrell begins filming the adaptation of Swedish play 'Miss Julie' in Co Fermanagh next week.

The Dublin-born actor is already in Northern Ireland, where he has been taking part in read-throughs ahead of shooting. Farrell will star opposite Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain in the film, which will be directed by Liv Ullmann.

Written by Swedish playwright August Strindberg, the 4ドル.3m adaptation will film at Castle Coole in Co Fermanagh throughout April. Farrell is lined up to star in another project, 'Solace', which will be filmed in Detroit in May.

Due for release in 2014, 'Miss Julie' also stars Samantha Morton. Chastain will play the part of an unsettled daughter of the Anglo-Irish aristocracy who encourages her father's valet, played by Farrell, to seduce her. Morton will play the Irish cook engaged to Farrell's character.

Farrell has been spotted out and about around Enniskillen, relaxing at the Killyhevlin Hotel and the Lough Erne Resort.

According to reports, Fermanagh was chosen as the backdrop for the film after location scouts were charmed by its 'beautiful natural setting'.

Originally set in Sweden and written in 1888, the film will be set over one midsummer night, with the action transferred to Fermanagh in the 1890s.
