Michael Peña Talks Potential Ant-Man Role

End of Watch star still in the running for a Marvel role.

Earlier today, IGN had a one-on-one chat with Michael Peña to talk about his starring role in the upcoming biopic Cesar Chavez. We'll have more on that later closer to the film's March 28 release, but we also got a chance to ask the actor about his potential involvement in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man, for which Peña confirmed he was still in negotiations. "We're still in talks," he told us. "Nothing's set in stone. I hope it works out."

When asked if he could say one way or the other on recent rumors about him playing the original villain Castillo in the movie, Peña replied, "No, I can't... [Laughs] If I told you, I'd have to give up my firstborn son."

Interestingly enough, Peña had little prior knowledge of comic books -- that was until his Observe and Report co-star Seth Rogen showed him the ropes. "[He] was the one who got me into comics," Peña explained. "I said, 'Hey, man, you talk about comics so much... Is there any one that you recommend?' He's like, 'Yeah, buy the first three books of Preacher.' I was like, 'Um... okay, I guess I'll do that,' and when I did -- I think there are nine books -- I bought 'em all. I was really, really into 'em... and now, with my kid, believe it or not, I'll read him some Spider-Man, Batman and The Avengers. He likes DC and Marvel, so... he doesn't really care!"

Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, the first character to bare the Ant-Man name. The superhero pic hits theaters on July 17, 2015.
