iCab is an alternative web browser for the Apple Mac with numerous useful features not found in other browsers.

Key features

Filtering advertising banners and much more

iCab can block undesirable content, like ads and pop-up windows. Also many settings can be automatically configured based on the URL of the page you're visiting, so you can have individual browser settings for different web site.

Kiosk mode

While in Kiosk mode, iCab will cover the whole screen and all other applications are blocked. The Kiosk mode is the ideal environment when the computer is accessing a public place (like fairs, exhibitions, hotels etc.) where users should be able to obtain information, yet prevent any external access to your system. Additionally, the access can be restricted to certain pages.

Download manager

Files and even whole web pages can be downloaded to access the content off-line at your convenience, without having to go online again.

Source code manager

iCab can display the source code of a page itself or open it in an Text Editor. iCab can automatically reload and re-display the entire page whenever the HTML code is saved in the editor.

Windows and tabs

At any time you can easily decide if a link or bookmark is opened in a new window or tab, in the background or foreground

iCab ist ein alternativer Web-Browser für den Apple Mac mit vielen nützlichen Funktionen, die bei anderen Browsern nicht üblich sind.

iCab ist Shareware und kostet 10 EUR bzw. 10ドル, kann aber mit einer kleinen Einschränkung auch kostenlos genutzt werden.

Features

Filter für Werbung und andere Dinge iCab kann unerwünschten Inhalt filtern, wie z.B. Werbung oder Popup-Fenster. Aber auch viele Browser-Einstellungen können individuell für jede Web-Seite eingestellt werden, um z.B. gewisse Probleme gewisser Seiten zu umgehen, ohne daß andere Seiten hiervon beeinflusst werden.

Kiosk-Modus

Damit können die Web-Seiten den ganzen Bildschirm ausfüllen und andere Programme werden blockiert. Ideal für öffentliche Zugriffe auf Messen, in Ausstellungen, Hotels usw. (sogenannte "Kiosk-Anwendungen"), wo jeder am Computer Informationen abrufen kann, aber natürlich keinen Zugriff auf den kompletten Rechner erhalten darf. Zusätzlich kann der Zugriff auf bestimmte Seiten begrenzt werden.

Download Manager

iCab kann Dateien und sogar komplette Web-Seiten herunterladen, so dass man später auf diese Inhalte offline zugreifen kann.

Quelltext Manager

Für den Quelltext einer Seite kann ein beliebiger Editor ausgewählt werden und iCab kann die Änderungen automatisch darstellen, wenn der entsprechende Text im Editor geändert wird.

Fenster und Tabs Jederzeit kann man Links und Lesezeichen über Tastaturkürzel in neue Fenster oder Tabs, im Hintergrund oder Vordergrund öffnen.
