The Head of the River Race
The Head of the River Race (HoRR) – founded in the 1926 by Steve Fairbairn – is one of the largest rowing events in the world. With over 320 crews taking part, we regularly see over 2,880 athletes taking to the Tideway to take on the Championship Course from Mortlake to Putney. The HoRR is proud to welcome all levels of athlete, from novices to Olympic champions, from both the UK and from across the world, attracting a wide range of rowers from schools to clubs and universities. Our aim is to organise one of the largest and most iconic distance rowing races in the world, and we are grateful for your support.
