HL7 offers students enrolled in full-time universities or colleges significant discounts on education and training.

Our training programs provide an opportunity to learn straight from the source. Our instructors are HL7 subject matter experts and professionals who develop our standards and work with implementers. HL7 standards include Version 2 (V2), Version 3 (V3), Clinical Document Architecture (CDA®) and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®).

NOTE: Students are required to submit proof of enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral program at an accredited university or college (in English). Either of the following documents is acceptable proof of enrollment:

  • A transcript showing the student is actively enrolled in the university or college as during the duration of the course.
  • A letter from the Dean or Department chair stating that the student is enrolled for a time period that includes the duration of the course. This letter must be on school letterhead, display a school seal or logo and contain a signature and phone number of the Dean or Department Chair.

HL7 also offers certification testing to help students achieve industry-recognized levels of proficiency and expertise. Those who pass receive an HL7 Certificate, Digital Badge and listing in our popular Certification Directory.
