European Medicines Agency

Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization Office
Providing our Service members, Veterans, and their families with world-class health care is of the utmost importance for both the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). A key component of this mission is ensuring interoperability between the Departments and their private partners. The DoD/VA Interagency Program Office (IPO) jointly oversees and monitors the efforts of the Departments in implementing national health data standards for interoperability. Additionally, the IPO serves as the single point of accountability for identifying, monitoring, and approving the clinical and technical data standards and profiles necessary to ensure seamless integration of health data between the DoD, VA, and the private sector.
