Libraries -- Discussion about libraries for Haskell

About Libraries
English (USA)

The purpose for this list is to:

(a) discuss an extension to haskell to provide a richer module namespace.

(b) discuss how to partition this namespace and populate it with libraries.

(c) discuss how to provide a consistent set of libraries for all compilers, and the setting up of a common library repository.

Status: the language extension has been agreed on, we have fleshed out much of the structure of the hierarchy, and an implementation of the Core libraries has begun. The code is in CVS, and GHC, Hugs and Nhc98 have all shipped versions including the hierarchical libraries.

The language extension is described in a Haskell 98 Addendum.

The documentation for the latest version of the hierarchical libraries can be found here.
