Guy Farley has reunited with Tim Lewiston (THE HOT POTATO) scoring director's second feature THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE. Set in Portugal and UK, the film stars Colm Meaney, Kate Ashfield and John Light. 禅here is Always Hope? is a comedy drama in which a woman travels to Portugal in an attempt to orchestrate a reconciliation between her parents. Successful author, Jonathan Stack, has been so obsessed with trying to pen his hit novel, he痴 allowed his marriage to breakdown to the point where she announces she痴 now leaving him.. Jonathan leaves the family home in Stratford Upon Avon and drives to the family villa in Portugal. Can the daughter successully bring the two back together. No release dtate has been announced so far - the movie has been only shown at various festivals on both sides of the Atlantic. Stay tuned for more details soon...

The edition, which also features roughly 30 minutes of previous unreleased music, is available as a 2-CD set limited to 3000 copies only. The CD can be ordered from KeepMoving Records . Guy Farley will reunite with director Tim Lewiston (THE HOT POTATO) and will compose original score for upcoming drama THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE. The movie has recently began its principal photography in Portugal. Colm Meaney (Hell On Wheels), Kate Ashfield (Shaun Of The Dead) and newcomer Hannah Chinn star in the feature about a successful author named Jonathan Stack (Meaney), who has been so obsessed with trying to pen his magnum opus that he痴 let his marriage to Samantha (Ashfield), who is also his agent and editor, break down to the point where she announces she痴 leaving him for her business partner.Devastated, he abandons the elegant family home in leafy Stratford Upon Avon and drives his ancient Jaguar to the family villa in Portugal where their young daughter Hope (Chinn) and her her half-sister Amelia (Brenda Meaney) try to help sort things out. Production companies are Stratford Upon Avon-based Bad Penny Productions, Yorkshire-based Eagle Film Productions and Monte Productions in Portugal. The movie is expected to premiere in 2021.

Guy Farley recenlty completed original score for upcoming Russian drama SILVER SKATES for director Michael Lockshi. The lengthy score will be recorded at Abbey Road Studios very soon and the film is expected to premiere later in 2020. Set in 1899, Saint Petersburg, Russia. Mathew is the fastest delivery boy of an elite bakery. Ice skating the frozen rivers and canals of the northern capital is his preferred mode of transportation in winter. After arriving late for his delivery because of the Duke Vyazemsky's cortege, his boss fires him, even though he knows that Mathew desperately needs money to help his dying father. Meanwhile, Alice, the daughter of the Duke dreams of studying in a university, however, her father considers women suited for more "traditional roles in society". Mathew's skating talents find good use in a gang of pickpocketers led by the anarchistic minded Alex. While Arkadiy - Vyazemsky's protege and potential son in law has been tasked with eliminating criminal elements from the frozen canals' markets before the New Year's celebrations commence. A chance meeting of Mathew and Alice change their lives forever. But can love overcome all their differences?

Guy Farley's LEGACY was released on CD last month and copies can be ordered directly from Bader Foundation website. Signed copies are also available so better not to hesitate. In the meantime you can also listen to the commentary by the composer about this piece. All proceeds from the sale of this unique and collectable EP will go towards the Douglas Bader Foundation.

THE BADER SUITE aka LEGACY will be released as special limited edition CD on September 5th. It will be also available digitally through all the stores including iTunes, Amazon and streaming services. Entire year has passed since the latest update, in the meantime Guy recorded Legacyク a musical tribute to Sir Douglas Bader, the World War Two fighter ace who lost both his legs in a plane crash. In partnership with the renowned disabled charity, the Douglas Bader Foundation, Legacy will pay tribute to Douglas Bader, and all those who have overcome disabilities in their lives. Guy Farley scored SYLVIA PLATH: INSIDE THE BELL JAR earlier this year and the movie will debut on August 11th on BBC 2 at 21:00. Inside The Bell Jar is the first documentary about Plath's classic semi-autobiographical novel. In it Frieda Hughes talks about her mother in depth for the first time on camera, and has unprecedented access to people who knew Sylvia Plath, many of whom are talking publicly for the first time.Blending beautifully shot interviews, impressionistic reconstruction, unpublished letters and photographs and a wealth of period archive that takes us back to the summer of 1953. This film is the story of an age, a person and a novel like no other.Life Inside The Bell Jar (1x60') is directed by Teresa Griffiths.

Guy Farley has collaborated with Tokio Myers on 2018 Commonwealth Games Anthem Jerusalem and you can see him conducting the orchestra in the music video below. In other news Guy has been also working on his next solo album and is scoring new short movie about the life of Douglas Bader - Royal Air Force pilot during the Second World War.

CALDERA RECORDS just announced their release of Guy Farley's score for THAT GOOD NIGHT. The movie will be released in the U.K. on May 11. The album will be available in a couple of weeks through all specialised retailers and besides original score (roughly 41 minutes) it also includes label's usual composer commentary. Over the past few months Guy has been busy scoring several high profile ads for Waitrose (recorded at Angel and including new arrangement of Carol of the Bells), Very (recorded at Abbey Road Studio 1), Aldi UK (featuring new arrangement of Danny Elfman's Edward Scissorhands recorded at Smecky Studios in Prague) and Morrisons (recorded at Abbey Road Studio 2). New Waitrose is also accompanied by new story by author Anne Fine, who wrote Madame Doubtfire, called Let It Snow, a tale about two animal families who become unlikely companions over a festive meal.For every book sold in Waitrose, a donation of 50p will be made to The Trussell Trust charity, which runs a network of more than 400 food banks. THAT GOOD NIGHT was originally planned to be released this Fall, but in the meantime the movie has been postponed and is currently scheduled to be released on April 6th 2018 in the UK... Here is the info about the THAT GOOD NIGHT score as well as three pictures from the sessions:

"On Thursday we recorded my Portuguese Band , with 3 Spanish Guitars, Cavaquinho and Mandolin.
Also Eddie Hession on Accordion, Upright bass, piano and clarinet.
Then Friday we recorded the strings, woodwind and harp in the hall.
On Friday evening we recorded the solo piano which I played to picture, free of any clicks or metronome.
We then mixed the score and finished last night late."

A GOOD AMERICAN score by Guy Farley and Christopher Slaski has been nominated for Best Original Score in the 7th Austrian Film Award. The ceremony will take place on February 1st, 2017 at 19:00 hrs at the Vienna City Hall (Wiener Rathaus). For more details visit the official website .

Guy Farley and Robin Foster were nominated for Evening Standard Film Award for their work on ANTHROPOID in Technical Achievement category. THE CROWN has been released by Netflix today. Unfortunately it has been confirmed that released CD won't feature and of Guy Farley's contributions to the series and includes only the main theme composed by Hans Zimmer and music by Rupert Gregson-Williams. Earlier this year Guy Farley composed additional music for the upcoming Netflix series THE CROWN, which will be released on November 4th. Sony Music will also release the soundtrack album on the same day and you can already pre-order the CD from Amazon. Several other composers worked on the series, which will also include music by Hans Zimmer, Rupert Gregson-Williams and Lorne Balfe. Guy Farley has just began scoring upcoming drama THAT GOOD NIGHT, starring John Hurt and Charles Dance. The movie is based on the play by N.J. Crisp and tells the story of Ralph, a once-famous screenwriter, who is in his seventies and terminally ill. He has two final missions: to be reconciled to his son, Michael, and, secretly, to ensure he is not a burden to his wife, Anna, as he goes "into that good night". Directed by Eric Styles, the movie will be released next year with specific date yet to be announced.

Guy Farley recorded his score for Bear Grylls' ENDEAVOUR this weekend at Abbey Road Studios with the 60-piece orchestra. During his 2016 tour Bear Grylls will be visiting 12 arenas across the UK and Ireland starting on Friday October 7-8th at London The SSE Arena, Wembley to take audiences on an immersive expedition. Brimming with action-packed stunts and using ground-breaking technology, Bear will be your guide through treacherous landscapes across the globe, and celebrating some of the greatest feats of courage, endurance and endeavour over the ages. Quartet records will release Guy Farley's and Christopher Slaski's score for documentary A GOOD AMERICAN on June 24th. More information will be added as soon as available. The album will be available through most of the specialized retailers. in the meantime it was also announced that Sean Ellis' ANTHROPOID will be released during Karlovy Vary Film Festival on July 1st with the director and the main stars in attendance. As mentioned below first 100 copies of MODIGLIANI will be autographed by Guy Farley himself. Caldera Records will release special DeLuxe edition of Guy Farley's score for MODIGLIANI. The expanded edition will include several previously unreleased tracks as well as brand new recording of the main theme performed by solo cello and piano. First 100 copies will be also autographed by the composer and pre-ordering should start during next week or so... check back again for various purchase links, which will be posted as soon as available.

Guy Farley has signed on to score upcoming movie THAT GOOD NIGHT directed by Eric Styles. John Hurt plays a once-famous screenwriter facing his death and trying to fullfil his last two wishes in life: To be reconciled with his long-lost son, and to ensure he doesn't become a burden on his wife by hiring a mysterious "visitor" to help him pass painlessly into "that good night". His plans don't go entirely according plan... The movie is based on N.J. Crisp's 1996 stage play of the same name, has started its principal shooting in Portugal earlier this month. So far no release date has been announced.

Besides being currently busy scoring ANTHROPOID for Sean Ellis, Guy has also recently composed the music for stage play AFTER THE BLUE by Natalie Stan, which played at Jermyn Street Theatre. The play is getting positive reviews, one of which also mentioned the score "This intense production is skilfully directed by Charles Savage and benefits from a strong cast and a beautiful musical score by Guy Farley which has a mystical and haunting quality, with a touch of Claude Debussy." You can read the full review here. Here is a little quote from the composer about his approach:

I wrote two themes with dramatic intros and outros and then I created a library of pieces from these for the director to use in the theatre. I also had to record music for one of the actors to sing too, 'Vincent' by Don maclean and Dance of the Dolls for a fairground scene. I wrote for strings, concert flute, alto flute, bassoon and bass clarinet, piano, harp and the amazing Thundertube which provided me with all the thunder I needed for that little coastal town setting. Acoustic guitar, bass and piano with brush kit for the songs.
