Wesley M. Cotterell Court
The Wesley M. Cotterell Court is located in the Wendt Wing of the Reid Athletic Center. Cotterell Court is home to the men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and volleyball teams. It accommodates 1,750, with chair back seating on the east side, and general admission bleachers on the west side.
The entire wood floor in Cotterell Court was replaced in the summer of 2016, giving the basketball and volleyball programs a completely new floor for the first time since the building's opening. Cotterell features a Daktronics scoreboard, digital media tables and an XOS replay system for basketball.
Cotterell Court was dedicated Dec. 3, 1966, to Wesley M. Cotterell ’19, two-time basketball letterman, and Trustee. The wing of Reid Athletic center that houses Cotterell Court was named in honor of Herman Wendt Jr ’27. The dedication was made during the first home contest played in Cotterell Court, an 80-75 loss to Cornell.
With the advent of coeducation, the first women’s basketball game at Cotterell was played in 1973 and resulted in a 45-23 loss to Oswego State. The first home volleyball game, also with Oswego State, was a 3-1 loss.
