What is GNU SQL Server

SQL Server is a free portable multiuser relatational database management system. It supports the full SQL89 dialect and has some extensions from SQL92. It provides multiuser access and transaction isolation based on predicative locks. The working OS: UNIX. The working language: C . It also uses RPC, shared memory and message queues.

The development of the server was supported by ISPRAS , RFBR and FSF (www.gnu.org).

You can get the latest released version at the FSF FTP site or any of its mirrors. The latest patches and tested versions of the server can be found here or at the internal FSF FTP site

Beta Versions

0.7b6 (28 Sept 98 ) - a huge amount of bug fixes and background modifications for ipc speedup.

0.7b5 (28 Apr 97 - 12 Jun 97) - almost the same as 0.7b4 but much more carefully tested.

0.7b4 (06 Apr 97) - a lot of configuration bugs fixed. Made initial support for knr compilers and 64 bit computers. Minor bugs fixed in DB constraints checking, recovery procedure and table join.

0.7b3 (19 Feb 97) - first public release. Contains most of declared functionality with some lack of performance, administration utilities and documentation.
