Adria cancels Bern base plans
NEWS FLASH
Adria Airways has cancelled plans to base two Saab 2000 turboprop aircraft in Bern from its sister company Adria Airways Switzerland and launch flights to Munich, Vienna, Berlin and Hamburg. It comes after the Bern-based SkyWork Airlines, which covers these routes, managed to secure finances and renew its operating license with Swiss authorities for an indefinite period. Adria Airways' CEO, Arno Schuster, said, "We are delighted that SkyWork Airlines has been able to regain the operating license so quickly, and we wish them every success". Adria, which was to launch operations out of the Swiss capital on November 6, has suspended ticket sales for its planned new flights and removed advertising for the new routes from its website.

Does 4K decide on things from a day to day basis? I mean they announced Berne base on Sunday, cancelled all plans by Thursday. Seems like they had no strategy or plan in place.
Reply DeleteThat's my thought, too... This is totally ridiculous.
DeleteShows how "strategic" this company is :D
Deletethis reminds me of good old Jatovanje :)
Reply DeleteIf you read the proposed schedule, it said at the bottom that it was contingent on getting the slots; they would only get these if skywork was unable to operate, meaning adria would get their slots.
Reply DeleteThis +1
DeleteIt shouldn't have been announced the way they did so hasty.

Reply DeleteThis management was extremely quick at cancelling all previously announced decisions. It either lacks experience or thought over strategy.
Reply DeleteIf you understood written English word, you would have noted, that Adria announced these flights will be taken over from SkyWorks, provided Skyworks is unable to operate the flights.
DeleteThere was no intended competition between them. Seeing that Skyworks secured a loan that will make them last only about 6 months, we can expect similar stories in the spring.
You should work on improving people skills. Insulting others won't help cure your belligerence.
DeleteI was referring to 4K's decisions in general. In plain English.
