If you would like to participate in research in areas in which I am
interested, I would like to talk with you so please contact me to
set up an appointment.
Students admitted to but not yet attending UC Davis
If you have a strong academic record and you feel your background
and interests are a good match, feel free to contact me.
If you do write, please send me a short plain-text, 80-column summary
of your education, class rank, key courses with grades,
related projects, and your work experience or publications.
Ideal candidates have an outstanding academic record and a background
in one or more of these four areas: digital signal processing,
processor architectures, CMOS circuit design, and VLSI design.
Other helpful skills include proficiency using: unix, scripting
(csh, perl, C), verilog, Cadence/Synopsys/Mentor tools, matlab,
hspice, and tcl/tk.
Students with top academic records are encouraged to write regardless
of background if interests match.

The overall goal of the laboratory is to develop novel contributions in
high-performance and energy-efficient VLSI computation,
with an emphasis on digital signal processing workloads.
UC Davis is well-positioned in a "college town" setting 65 minutes
from San Francisco and 90 minutes from Silicon Valley. The group
enjoys strong relationships with many high-tech companies in silicon
valley, the Sacramento area, and around the country.
