Summary

Topics to be addressed include assessing and measuring risks and benefits, and risk perception as it is affected by communication, information presentation (or misrepresentation) and culture. Other portions of the book include managing risk-taking and exploring the influence of social policy on the attitudes of people towards various risks as compared to those risks taken with alcohol consumption.

Author Biography

Marjana Martinic, Ph.D., is Vice President for Public Health at the International Center for Alcohol Policies (ICAP), where she is responsible for public health outreach, communications, and international alcohol policy development Barbara Leigh, Ph.D., M.P.H., is a Senior Scientist at the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute at the University of Washington, where she is also Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Epidemiology
