been developed by Datalogic in order to satisfy
the strict requirements of EPA (ESD Protected
Area). ESD is a phenomenon that occurs when an
object has an imbalance in its electric charge: a
fast charge transfer between objects with
different electrostatic potential caused by
contact or by the proximity of the two objects.

The
IMAGETEAM 3800 High Density ESD scanner is a high
performance scanner designed for the stringent
requirements of the clean room. The IT3800VHD/ESD
reads very high density bar codes. All materials
used in the IT3800ESD are tested using the
methods described in ASTM D257, Standard Test
Methods for Conductance of Insulating Materials.
The surface resistivity is rated at less than
10E8 ohms/square. Triboelectric residual charge
is measured with a non contact Electrostatic
Field Meter and is less than 5 volts on any
surface. Includes: 3800 VHD/ESD-12 scanner and
PS/2 keyboard wedge cable.
