10. ATA Carnet
The ATA Carnet is an international unified customs document that simplifies the import/export customs clearance procedures under the A.T.A Convention (Customs Convention on the A.T.A Carnet for the temporary admission of goods), when goods such as commercial samples, professional equipment, and display articles are brought into an A.T.A Convention country on a temporary basis with duty-free admission.
If you have an ATA Carnet, please bring it with you to Tokyo Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs and complete customs clearance procedures.
Please note that the name on the ATA Carnet holder or user must match the name of the addressee of the postal item.
We request all ATA Carnet holders who use international mail services to ask the sender to clearly indicate “ATA Carnet” on the exterior of the mail.
