As the title suggests, the core of the opportunity lies in the combination of virtual and physical mobility, enabling students and staff to develop new educational activities including digital skills improvement.

In Memoriam: Professor K. R. Rajagopal

The academic community at Charles University and beyond is deeply saddened by the passing of Professor K. R. Rajagopal, who died on March 20, 2025.At Charles University, Professor Rajagopal mentored many students and collaborated with several senior researchers at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. He received an honorary doctorate from the university in 2012.

Renowned chemist and biologist receive CU honorary degrees

Charles University has awarded honorary doctorates honoris causa to two distinguished international experts: professor of physical chemistry Michael Grätzel at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, and professor of molecular biology Kari Jussi Hemminki, who is currently conducting research at the Biomedical Centre of the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen at CU.

Norwegian experts share findings from research on violence and PTSD

A two-day meeting with experts from the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies (NKVTS) took place last week at the Carolinum. The researchers shared the experiences of survivors of the attack on 22 July 2011 on the island of Utøya in Norway with representatives of Charles University, other universities, government institutions and initiatives involved in aid after the tragic events at the Faculty of Arts.

The Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic has approved an amendment to the Higher Education Act, which brings significant changes to doctoral studies and transforms the National Accreditation Office. Both Charles University and the Czech Rectors' Conference had a significant role in the preparation of the amendment.
