I am a postdoctoral fellow working
in the CORAL group with Prof. Manuela Veloso. I
received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from University
Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M), Spain, in 2003, advised by Prof. Daniel Borrajo. I
received my B.Sc. in Computer Science in 1999 also from UC3M. Since '99
I became assistant and associate professor of the Computer Science
Department at UC3M. In the summer and fall of 2000, I was a visiting
student at the Center
for Engineering Science Advanced Research at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory (Tennessee), advised by Prof. Lynne E. Parker.
RESEARCH INTEREST:
My research interests are machine learning and planning. My PhD thesis
is about Reinforcement Learning in continuous state spaces. I also have
worked in supervised learning, specifically in Nearest Prototype
Classification. Some of the application domains that I have used are
robot soccer, multi robot systems, adaptive educational systems, and
tourism support tools.
