• SimOS: a simulator which can simulate OS as well as user-level code.
  • SimOS user guide
  • Alpha version of SimOS
• ATOM: a very nice tool for instrumenting Alpha binaries.
• Alpha performance counters: Alpha processors have nice on-chip performance counters which let you profile things like cache misses, branch mispredictions, etc.
• SimpleScalar: a superscalar processor simulator.
• WARTS: Wisconsin Architectural Research Tool Set: a collection of tools including a path profiling tool, cache simulators, etc.
• Augmint: a multiprocessor simulator for x86 architectures.
• MINT: a multiprocessor simulator for MIPS architectures.
