To fully understand the essential mechanisms of emergence of material strength and various physical properties, it is necessary to reveal the behavior of materials at the nano and micrometer scales in particular. We are tackling problems of mechanophysics in nano-micro regions by multiscale modeling and simulation that utilizes various methods including first-principles (ab initio) methods, molecular dynamics, and continuum model methods.
