Up to now, there have been no simulation systems that can perform on-site coupled analysis of large-scale assembly structures composed of multiple parts. As such, analysis is done individually for the different components, i.e., fluid, structural, and magnetic analysis, resulting in insufficient analytical accuracy. Given this situation, we will develop REVOCAP, a large-scale-assembly multi dynamics simulator that can operate on PC clusters and on massively parallel computers such as next-generation supercomputers.
In massively parallel computer environments with performance of more than 10 TFLOPS, REVOCAP will permit diverse coupled analysis at 100 million DOF each for fluid, structural, and magnetic analysis. In next-generation computer environments, coupled analysis at 100 billion DOF for fluid analysis and 10 billion DOF for structural analysis will be possible.
We will develop REVOCAP by expanding the functions of large-scale parallel simulators (FrontFlow, FrontSTR, REVOCP_Magnetic) and coupled analysis systems integrating these simulators (REVOCAP_Coupler, Mesh, Visual) previously developed in the Revolutionary Simulation Software Project.
By "front-loading" the coupled analysis of actual assembly structures during the early steps of the design, we can identify and deal with general issues regarding the actual machine in the early stages of production. This will enable "process innovation" in manufacturing and also strongly promote generation of "product innovation."
