ADDITIONAL INFORMATION for RHD3 |
LOCUS SUMMARY NOTES for RHD3 (Last Updated: 2011年05月14日) - RHD3 encodes a putative glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell wall protein; it is covalently linked to the beta-1,3-glucan framework of the cell wall via beta-1,6-glucan (, 13)
- it is a small and abundant O-glycosylated protein that requires the protein-O-mannosyl transferase Pmt1p for glycosylation (13)
- RHD3 was named for Repressed during Hyphae Development; its transcription is strongly expressed in yeast cells but decreased upon the yeast-hyphal switch (1, 13)
- it is also called PGA29 and LDG7 in the scientific literature
- Rhd3p is much more abundant in cell wall at pH 4 suggesting regulation by pH (17)
- rhd3 mutants display a significant reduction of cell wall mannan however, Rhd3p does not appear to play a role in cell wall integrity 20533408 mutants form normal hyphae (13)
- the rhd3 mutant shows decreased virulence in a reconstituted human epithelium infection model; the mutants induces less proinflammatory cytokines, such as GM-CSF, TNF, IL-6 and IL-8 (13)
- it is transcriptionally regulated by iron; expression levels are greater in high iron (7)
- its transcript is induced during cell wall regeneration following protoplasting (18)
- RHD3 displays clade-associated gene expression (10)
