◆だいやまーくBiographical Statement
ネイプルズ博士は、「ジェンダーの社会学」、「質的方法論」、「ジェンダー/政治/国家」、「女性のアクティヴィズムとグローバリゼーション」、「フェミニスト理論」の科目を教えている。彼女は、社会的行為者がいかにして影響を受け、地域外経済と政治構造/政策に抵抗するのかを見定めるために、民族誌・言説分析・文書調査・比較研究を含めたさまざまな調査方法を用いて、国家/市場/他の社会機構と市民権の間の関係を調べている。彼女は、歴史的構造、生活保護の施行、移民、地方の経済発展、コミュニティの統制政策を調査してきた。また、都市/地方のコミュニティに属する低所得者層/労働者階級が、外部から押しつけられた政策や州主導のプログラムにいかにして応答し、作り変え、抵抗するのかも検討してきた。さらに、障がいをもつ犯罪被害者と幼児期の性暴力被害者に対して司法へのアクセスを促進するように立案されたプログラムについての調査も行なってきた。彼女は現在、アメリカの地方部における、世界的経済変化/社会政策と地域主体の社会的再編成との関連を研究した本の執筆に取り組んでいる。彼女の現在の研究は、比較の視点における性的市民権についてである。彼女は2004年に「Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS)」の会長を勤め、これまで「Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP)」/「Eastern Sociological Society」/「Pacific Sociological Association」/「American Sociological Association」で役職に就いている。
