Got caught up so busy the last few days and posted this rather late for today!

Here’s a thesis for a Doctorate of Ministry that Southern Seminary has made available titled "Integrating Principles and Practices of Apologetics with Biblical Counseling." This is a treat for those into Presuppositional apologetics! The dissertation was written by Keith Baker and was completed on November 2018. Its neat to see his dissertation is available online for free.

Here’s an abstract:

Justin Gray. Jonah Hex, Volume 6: Bullets Don’t Lie. New York, NY: DC Comics, April 1, 2009. 144 pp.

4 out of 5

Purchase:Amazon

Want to read comics on Old Wild West adventures? I have not read any Jonah Hex comics in years, which is a character in DC Comics and I thought I give this volume a read while I was on Christmas vacation and the break leading up to the New Year in 2025. It was a fun read.

There is part two from a four part series on 3 John.

The book of 3 John is so small. Some might wonder why is it in the Bible?

Thomas Brooks. Remedies for Division among God’s People. Pensacola, FL: Chapel Library, May 23, 2016. 20 pp.

5 out of 5

Free: Chapel Library

If we understand the Bible’s teaching on sins, we Christians would realize all of us have the bomb inside of us to cause disunity in the church. That fact should make us beware of ourselves in how we relate to other Christians in the church so as not to cause division. I realize a lot of this has to be preventative ahead of time. So what resource can one have to promote unity and even to work in one’s heart with the danger of division among God’s people? This work by Thomas Brooks published by Chapel Library is helpful and I would even say powerful. I was immensely edified reading this.

This past year has been the year I have taught the most than any other year.

This upcoming year will be a lot too but hopefully not as much as 2025 (I had to teach a lot of last minute things that other teachers couldn’t teach due to health, problems, etc).

Joel Beeke. How to Lead Your Family. Grand Rapids: Reformation Heritage Books, May 12, 2025. 80 pp.

5 out of 5

Purchase: Amazon

Here is a great work for fathers and husbands! In a time where biblical masculinity is under attack and also a time where I see some over-reaction by some Christians that gets weird and strange with preaching the manhood card, here’s a refreshingly biblical and practical and Godly take on biblical manhood in leading marriage and the family. Author and pastor Joel Beeke writes in a way that I have come to expect from him, God-centered, biblical and devotional and simple and yet theologically enriching. In personal discussions with the author Joel Beeke has told me how he loves to write and even if his works are not published he would still be writing; but I am glad his works are published since they are helpful to the body of Christ! I also love that this work comes in a readable size of 80 pages! This is doable for most general readers! Even if you are not a man and you are reading this book review, I think this is a great book as a gift for the husband and father in your life!

It is the weekend and Pastors also need a break from heavy theological reading! So here’s three DC comics books reviewed!

Alan Grant. Batman: The Dark Knight Detective, Volume 5. Burbank, CA: DC Comics, May 25, 2021. 328 pp.

5 out of 5

Purchase: Amazon

Here’s some more Batman Detective Comics adventures from the late 1980s and early 1990s! This is the fifth volume of Batman: The Dark Knight Detective which has Detective Comics issues #612-614, #616-21 and Detective Comics Annual 3. I appreciate how DC Comics has collected these older issues of comics and have them in trade paperback volumes for a new generation!

For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: Did Jesus know everything?

Here are the answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction:

Yes, he knew everything.

Now we know that You know all things, and that You have no need for anyone to question You; this is why we believe that You came forth from God."" (John 16:30)

He *said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was hurt because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus *said to him, "Tend My sheep." (John 21:17)

that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and that they would attain to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:2-3)

No, he did not know everything.

He didn’t know who had touched him.

And immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that power from Him had gone out, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My garments?"" (Mark 5:30)

And Jesus said, "Who is the one who touched Me?" And while they were all denying it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing in on You."" (Luke 8:45)

He was surprised at the centurion’s faith. (People who know everything are never surprised.)

Now when Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those who were following, "Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel." (Matthew 8:10, cf. Luke 7:9)

And he didn’t know when the end of the world would come.

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." (Mark 13:32)

(All Scriptural quotation comes from the New American Standard Bible)

Here’s a closer look at whether or not there is a contradiction:

Merry Christmas! Since this is Christmas I thought I gather in one post what contradictions I dealt with surrounding the account of the Birth of Jesus from the bigger lists of Bible Contradictions we have refuted. The following are from the last few years. Lord willing I plan to add more posts to the list for next Christmas!

Before going further remember the Author of the Skeptic Annotated Bible has a Self-Defeating Worldview that makes his endeavor to attack the Bible be meaningless and unintelligible.

Here’s the listing:

For today’s post we will tackle an issue the Skeptic Annotated Bible raised: Jesus did not completely cure the blind?

Here’s the passage the Skeptic thinks is absurd:

And he looked up and said, "I see people, for I see them like trees, walking around." 25 Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.

Mark 8:24-25

(All Scriptural quotation comes from the New American Standard Bible)

Under “Absurdity” for 1Kings here is what the Skeptic Annotated Bible says:

“Jesus’ spit did not completely cure the blind. So Jesus tried again. He put his hands on the man’s eyes and, this time, the blind man “saw every man clearly.

Here’s a closer look at whether or not there is an absurdity:
