Welcome to the Tohoku University International Support Center (ISC)!

Established in April 2022, our center provides comprehensive support to international students, international researchers, and faculty members of Tohoku University.

From providing support with practical matters such as travel arrangements and finding accommodation, to more complex bureaucratic procedures, our goal is to provide the resources and assistance needed to ensure that our international community in Tohoku University has a worry-free and enjoyable experience in Sendai and at the university.

All individuals living in Japan are legally obligated to reply, including foreign residents who have been living in Japan for 3 months or more. Join the Sendai Japanese Language Course to learn Join the Sendai Japanese Language Course to learn Japanese! Learn in a supportive community setting, with classes available from beginner to advanced. The courses are taught by experienced members of the International Citizens’ Association of Sendai (ICAS) and are free (textbook not included).
