The dangers of sports gambling addiction

Legalized gambling and professional sports were once regarded as a deadly combination to be avoided at all costs. But today, 39 states and Washington, D.C. have legalized online sports gambling. Nearly 150ドル billion worth of legal sports bets were placed last year alone. Model Prisons: California's Push for Reform

Nearly 95% of people currently in prison will be released back into society, and historically a significant percentage are likely to reoffend. In California, authorities are trying to change that by providing inmates access to education, work and other rehabilitative privileges — programs that have been shown to reduce recidivism and increase public safety. CBS Reports examines a controversial approach some see as being “soft on crime,” which now may be preventing it.

Is carbon capture a solution to the climate crisis?

As a tool to address rising greenhouse gas emissions, carbon capture chemically removes carbon dioxide from the air, to store or recycle into products. The company behind a new plant to be opened this summer claims the facility will remove 500,000 tons of CO2 a year.
