Sometimes I just want to take a break and fall back to the line art (manga style) that I’m familiar with. It’s more natural for me to interpret the world through lines rather than shades. But I still want to learn how to paint well and to master color combinations. Till next time…

The face ended up being a little doll-looking, which is the opposite of what I wanted initially. I wanted a sharp and cool looking woman. There’s so much to learn and practice.
I learned this digital painting technique from @cyarine. In her tutorial video she would flip her portrait left and right to make sure the face looks even. During the making of this portrait, I noticed that I tent to draw the right side of the face larger… I had to reshape her head constantly. #digitalpainting .

Work in progress. Trying out different hair styles. I like long and wavy hair. I also want to paint braids but at the end decided the short hair works better with the trench coat. I’m imagining a very handsome and down-to-the-earth woman, a bit retro style. What color should this be? .
