[some kind of tom cruise joke]

this was saturday night, 7pm, literally on the beach. it was a random thing, they just happened to be playing there for the surfers paradise festival. one night earlier it would have been sneaky sound system. there was dancing on soft sand. he said some guy messed up his tele's bridge pickup 30 years ago and he'd just got it fixed. he said death defying was about the aids crisis. the set included i want you back, 1000 miles away, bittersweet, come any time, plus more i can't remember now. a few songs from the 2010 album, kind of like powderfinger. encore was what's my scene and like wow wipeout. afterwards there was fireworks accompanied by ac/dc's hells bells. that right there sums up the gold coast. fireworks & ac/dc. yep, it's awesome.
