Assuming that people do read the tutorial and that people don't read the appendix (or at least it is read much later), the body of the text should briefly mention the floating point issues with an example and reference the corresponding appendix. This issue seems to be one of the most frequently asked questions on python-list/c.l.python and since people don't read FAQs ;-), I thought it would be convinient to mention it in the body of the tutorial text. This patch is made against the CVS version but it should work with earlier versions too.
